When bare escentuals announced that they were releasing pressed shadows I was so excited. When they launched and came with a sponge applicator I will admit I was disappointed. One of the main reasons why I was so excited about the pressed shadows was so that I could easily travel with my beloved BE, but with the sponge applicators I still had to bring extra brushes. So when I saw the holiday 8.0 palettes came with a double ended brush I knew I needed them...both. So I bought them at the preview sale because there was no way I could wait to have them.

So I have had both the playlist and the cocktail hour for a while now and I have to say, I have no complaints. While I have not traveled with them yet, they have been my go to eye shadow when I am at all in a hurry. Rather than having to find a bunch of different pots and opening them separately, I just grab this and all the shadows I need for a complete eye look in the palm of my hand. The colors are so pigmented and gorgeous. It comes with, Pumped, Chart Topper, Max Volume, Louder, One Hit Wonder, Most Requested, Remix, Speaker Box. When I was at the Outlet yesterday they had selected kits on sale for 20% off and finally the Foiled Eye Kit was one sale. I have been waiting and waiting to pick this up so I had to buy it yesterday and wear it today. Also a quick note about Denise Buxom lip gloss - Leslie was my go to gloss that I kept in my purse but I recently ran out and Denise is taking her place for now!

makeover from BE outlet

I had a makeover at the BE Outlet today as part of the Preview Night Event. At the outlets they were featuring "old" products that they have just received, such as The Women of BE, Mayan Rivera Kit, Earthy Elegance Eye Shadow Palette, a ton of new retired Buxom lip glosses and more. As part of the makeovers you could choose any of the new products to be used so I decided to try some colors from the Women of BE kit as I will probably never buy it. Unfortunately my lip gloss wore off before I got a chance to take photos but everything else stayed put.

2.0 Ready Eyeshadows and an Ulta free gift!

I have to start by apologizing for not posting very often lately! I have still been so busy from the move and just when I get my head above water something else comes up, like this weekend I had so much cleaning and updating to do and then I got sick and spent the weekend in bed watching movies.  But I promise I have a ton of photos of the looks I have worn and they are coming soon. Betty Draper meets 2011

This year for Halloween I decided to go as Betty Draper from Mad Men. Most people don't really like her and I am sometimes one of those people but never the less I LOVE her style. So here is the look I came up with for Halloween 2011:

• apply velvet cream all over eyelid
• add velvet taupe to crease and blend well
• buxom leatherette eyeliner and wing out dramatically
• apply eyeliner halfway along bottom waterline 
• BE Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara
• apply eyelure false lashes in Twilight and go over with eyeliner
• foundation in fairly light
• Heathy Radiance light on cheeks for subtle color
